Creative Scotland have announced that The Common Guild will be curating the Scottish Pavilion at next year’s Venice Biennale. The exhibition will feature three artists – Duncan Campbell, Corin Sworn and Hayley Tompkins – and marks ten years since Scotland’s first participation in the event.
In recent years a different institution has taken up the curatorial reigns, rotationally, with the Fruitmarket Gallery inviting Karla Black to represent in 2011 and Dundee Contemporary Arts choosing Martin Boyce in 2009.
