All three artists are currently exhibiting their work at London’s Daiwa Foundation Japan House Gallery.  The winner was announced on the opening night of the Art Prize 2015 exhibition.

The Ruskin is delighted to congratulate Oliver on his prize: a prestigious first solo show at a gallery in Tokyo, Japan. He has been awarded a £5,000 participation fee plus travel and accommodation costs for a seven day period in Japan to coincide with the opening of the exhibition.

In keeping with the aims of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, which was established in 1988 in order to support deeper links between Britain and Japan, Oliver will be introduced to key individuals and organisations in the Japanese art world during his visit.

The 2015 judging panel was comprised of Hideki Aoyama, gallery director, Aoyama | Meguro Gallery, Tokyo; Richard Deacon, artist; Mami Kataoka, chief curator, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; Chris Orr RA, artist; and Jonathan Watkins, director of Ikon Gallery, Birmingham.
