As a nominated artist for the Platform Award, Grace has developed a new installation, Red in, blank, Blue out, for the Creative Space in Modern Art Oxford. The exhibition runs from 5 - 15 September, and Grace will also give an artist talk on both 11 and 14 September, at 3pm.
Grace was chosen by a panel of judges from Modern Art Oxford, who considered the work by all the finalists in the BFA Degree Show. The judges also selected an artist from each of the Degree Shows at Oxford Brookes University and the Univeristy of Reading.
Launched by Modern Art Oxford in 2012, Platform is an annual project that nurtures and profiles Fine Art graduates from local universities across the south east of England. The initiative is led by CVAN South East (Contemporary Visual Arts Network South East) and is currently a partnership between four galleries: Aspex in Portsmouth, MK Gallery in Milton Keynes, Modern Art Oxford and Turner Contemporary in Margate. Each has selected artists from their local fine art graduate shows to exhibit at their respective institutions over the coming months. An artist from each gallery will be shortlisted for the Platform prize in which the winner receives a year of bespoke professional development and support as well as a monetary contribution towards their practice. The winner will be announced in November 2019 at Aspex.
