Ruskin DPhil Kelly Lloyd has released an online archive and weekly podcast

Kelly Lloyd has been interviewing people in the arts about their livelihoods since 2017. She has interviewed 85 people thus far and has recently created an online archive of excerpts from 50+ interviews, as well as a podcast with episodes airing weekly in February and March.

This Thing We Call Art - Logo / Kelly Lloyd 2022

You can find the archive and Episode 1, a 45-minute-long conversation with Marseille-based Sculptor Dominique White on the project website here.

New episodes will be released on Thursdays every week during February and March on the website and will also play on RTM.FM in London at 2pm GMT on Thursdays, and on Lumpen Radio in Chicago at 2pm CST on Fridays.

You’ll hear conversations Lloyd had (in this order) with Gregory Bae, Gordon Hall, Nicole Morris, Leah Capaldi, someone who would like to remain anonymous, Hilary Powell, and Bella Milroy

As a part of this programme, Lloyd will be on a panel with Zarina Muhammad and Morgan Quaintance on February 24th at 7pm at Whitechapel Gallery. We’ll be speaking about the issues and inequalities surrounding artistic labour on the occasion of Whitechapel Gallery's opening of A Century of the Artist’s Studio: 1920 – 2020. This conversation will also be aired as an episode of the podcast.

Tickets can be purchased here (£9.50/£7.50 concessions):
