Virtual Open Days - 18 September

Thank you to those who visited the Ruskin's Virtual Open Days on 1 and 2 July. We look forward to seeing more prospective candidates at the next Virtual Open Day on Friday 18 September, when we should have more content.

Due to the public health emergency, the University of Oxford regrets it has to cancel the physical Open Days in July and September . However, the Ruskin is pleased to be participating in the University's Virtual Open Days 2020 and the next one will be held on 18 September, with a lot of online opportunities to learn about the BFA programme, and all that the Ruskin, and Oxford, has to offer.

On these days, the University Admissions page will host a platform where each department and college will 'open' its doors and welcome visitors on virtual tours, and provide introductions to the subjects and degree programmes, and offer insights into the student experience at Oxford.

The Ruskin School of Art webpage will be found under 'Fine Art'.  Here you will be able to view:

  • An introduction to the BFA programme by Lee Triming, Director of Undergraduate Studies

  • A guide to the admissions process, included advice on the steps to making a strong application

  • Tours of the Ruskin's two buildings and details of the facilities and resources

  • Examples of teaching

You will also be able to join online Q&A sessions (times tbc), when faculty and tutors (both Studio and History & Theory), technicians and admissions staff, and also student ambassadors will be available to answer your enquiries.

During the Virtual Open Days you will also be able to 'visit' those colleges which accept Fine Art undergraduates (see www.rsa.ox.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/bfa-affiliated-colleges).

Please note, there will be more content available in the September Virtual Open Day, so even if you visited in July, you may want to come again in September to view the extra information.

We hope very much to welcome you to the Fine Art area in the Virtual Open Days, and to see you at the Ruskin in due course, and for the time being hope you and your loved ones stay safe and well.
