Match of the century ends in a glorious, muddy draw.
On a grey afternoon in January, the School gathered at Meadow Lane Playing Fields where Ruskin staff bravely faced Ruskin AFC (Artistic Football Club) in a long awaited showdown! Fresh kits, fierce loyalty and an alarming amount of enthusiasm made for an unforgettable game.
It was a breathtaking display of grit, glory, and a complete disregard for personal wellbeing (and rules). Players fought tooth and nail, sacrificing physical health for the love of the game. After a rollercoaster of drama, it all ended in a perfectly poetic 2–2 draw.
Certificates of Excellence were handed out and proud recipients were Ruskin tutors Neal Tait and Tom Woolner for Exceptional Dedication at Great Bodily Cost and Most Intimidating Player respectively, Ruskin BFA3 student Matt Bartlett for an Iconic Goal and lastly BFA graduate (2025) Tom Hodges-Gilbert for his Enthusiastic Leadership as one of the founders of Ruskin AFC.
