The Phenomenon Association and the Kerenidis Pepe Collection are pleased to announce the fourth edition of Phenomenon, a project for contemporary art held on the Aegean island of Anafi, Greece. Invited participants for 2022 includes Ruskin's own Ian Kiaer.
Phenomenon 4 will include a residency program with a series of public lectures, performances, video screenings, and other events from 27 June until 3 July, and an exhibition across the island opening 3 July, and running until 11 July.
For its fourth edition, Phenomenon will look at the construction of temporalities and their effects: starting from the reshaping of the island’s life from its yearlong agricultural cycle, to accommodating a seasonal tourist period, followed by a winter migration; and moving on to notions of (un)productive time, and the role of the arts in proposing deviating temporalities that open up spaces for deliberation and reconfigure the field of possibility.
