In the academic year 2024-25, the Ruskin will be hosting a series of talks by leading practitioners in international contemporary art (artists, writers, curators and others), which will be open to the University community and the public.

In Hilary term, the programme focuses on research-led and interdisciplinary practices, with themes exploring colonial sites and histories, social infrastructures, and technological fictions. Our speakers include visual artist and writer Gary Zhexi Zhang, historian and theorist of sound Professor Gascia Ouzounian, and the platform and artistic collaboration SITAAD, co-founded by Leyla Degan and Naima Hassan.

The programme is intended to encourage open discussion and steer the intellectual and artistic direction of the School.

  • Time: alternate Thursdays 5pm - 6.30pm.
  • Venue: Ruskin School of Art, East Oxford location, 128 Bullingdon Rd, OX4 1QP.
