The Ruskin welcomes new faculty members

We are delighted to welcome Oreet Ashery and Samson Kambalu as new Associate Professors in Fine Art at the Ruskin!

Oreet and Samson join the faculty staff in October 2017 and between them will be teaching on the BFA and the MFA, as well as supervising DPhils.  Oreet will be a fellow of Exeter College, and Samson of Magdalen.

Both Oreet and Samson come to the Ruskin with a wealth of expertise in teaching, researching and making contemporary art. Oreet joins the Ruskin from Goldsmiths College, where she taught across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Samson joins us from Chelsea School of Art, where he taught while completing his PhD in contemporary art.

Both Oreet and Samson work across diverse media, spanning moving and still image, performance and writing. They have exhibited throughout the UK and internationally, in venues including Artangel, Tate Modern and the Venice and Dakar Biennales. The Ruskin is thrilled that they will extend the diversity of theory and practice in the School's programmes.

For more information, please see Oreet's and Samson's profile pages on this website.
