Making things makes my brain tick, that’s probably the primary driving factor behind why I make artwork. The majority of my work sees to detach labour and craft from purpose or reason, investing countless hours into the mundane or unimportant, highlighting the absurdity of the craft processes required to make things. What I find most striking in craft’s absurdity is its inherent qualities of care, care in aligning each layer of print, in the maintenance of each tool and working space, in the time and labour given up for the sake of making something exist. If I had to spend all my time doing something, I’d want to spend all my time caring for something. That’s why I make things.
