The body is central to my work, both as material and as subject. It is a vessel of memory, experience and evidence which are often inaccessible through verbal language. My practice is a form of brain surgery. Although gentle and precise, it is invasive in its effort to pick out the past. This surgery is not an attempt to repair or normalise the body, but to expose it. I examine what has been overlooked, misunderstood or misdiagnosed.
