Coco Ho (b.1995) is a Hong Kong artist based in Shanghai and Oxford. Her confessional artistic practice consists primarily of experimental films, works on paper and texts, depicting herself as various fantastical characters. Fusing autobiographical episodes, Japanese ACG aesthetics, Greek mythology, and satirical humor, the artist examines the psychological states of millennials in the rapidly globalized Chinese modern society.
Coco Ho graduated with a BA in psychology and interdisciplinary visual arts from the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2023, Ho was an artist in residence at the K11 x Art Review residency in Wuhan and Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. Her work was shortlisted for the New Contemporaries Prize (2024) and nominated at the Shanghai International Film Festival (2020, 2022), Rhode Island international Film Festival (2022), Bolton Film Festival (2022) and Black Cat International Film Festival (2022) etc.
