Charlotte Rich-Jones

Charlotte Rich-Jones's practice primarily revolves around painting, however incorporates elements of drawing and handmade materials. Her art focuses on anatomy, exploring themes of ‘camp’ and the macabre through sources like medical archives and her landscape photography. She constructs surreal and often eerie scenarios that challenge societal taboos around death and the physical human body. Blending the grotesque with the whimsical, Charlotte Rich-Jones's pieces challenge viewers to confront the uncomfortable corporeal realities of our bodies. Recently, Charlotte has committed to sustainability, using found objects and creating her own materials, such as grass paper. Through her multifaceted approach, she invites viewers to engage with the fantastical and fragile aspects of life.
