Anouska Brooks works across the mediums of drawing, paint, print, collage and sculpture. Her work explores the ways in which visual material can capture her response to a place, memory or encounter through the elements of line, shape, and colour. She draws from a combination of memory, imagination and imagery to inform her work, and delves into past drawings to inspire new ones. Whilst her work makes reference to the rural and urban landscape, botanics, and the human form, she does not present the viewer with a specific agenda or meaning. Instead, she focusses on experimenting with a range of expressive mark making tools, and the making process in her work.
