LAST CHANCE TO SEE: the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2016 exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London, which ends on 22 January.
Ruth Spencer Jolly, who graduated from the Ruskin's BFA in 2016, Alicia Reyes McNamara (MFA 2016) and Maryam Tafakory (MFA)are included in this annual touring exhibition of the best of recent and new fine art graduates.
The 46 participating artists were selected by a guest panel of comprising Anya Gallaccio, Alan Kane and Haroon Mirza. Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2016, brings together artists working across a range of media with traditional techniques and materials used alongside digital applications and processes. Themes in this year’s works include; mass-production, socio-economics, gender equality and cultural identity. The resulting exhibition is both a social commentary and an indication of the emerging generations’ preoccupations.
Having already been shown at the Bluecoat Gallery in Liverpool, forming part of the Liverpool Biennial, the exhibition has justed open at the ICA in London, and continues until 22 January 2017.
